The Bible tells us that we, as Christians, are always to be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks us a reason for the hope that is in us, with meekness and fear. (1 Peter 3:15). How many of the questions listed below have you been asked? Perhaps at one time or another you have asked some of them yourself. Did you feel confident in answering them? Were your answers correct?

Where did Cain get his wife?

What about the fossil record? Doesn’t it prove that the creation account in Genesis isn’t true?

Why aren’t dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible?

Is there any evidence for a worldwide flood?

Where did the “races” come from?

Why is it important that I believe a creation of six literal days?

Aren’t the six days of creation in the Bible compatible with the geologic ages taught by evolution?

What about radiometric dating and the long ages that go with it? Doesn’t it disprove the Bible?

What about distant starlight? Doesn’t it prove that the universe is billions of years old?

The Big Bang theory is compatible with the Bible, isn’t it?

Aren’t there two different creation accounts in the Bible? How can they both be true?

Aren’t theistic evolution, progressive creation, and the gap theory adequate explanations of Genesis1 and 2? After all, many prominent theologians ascribe to one of these interpretations.

Aren’t Genesis 1and 2 really just allegorical and poetry, not a real account of what happened?

How did you do on these questions? Were you able to give authoritative Biblical answers? Have any these questions ever been the cause of doubt in your mind that the Bible is trustworthy? Would you agree that many of these questions are a real stumbling block to those who might come to Christ? Answers in Genesis has answers to these and many more questions about creation, the Genesis flood, and the authority of Scripture.

Answers in Genesis is a creation evangelism ministry with a worldwide focus for the purpose of presenting the Christian scriptural and scientific evidence for a literal interpretation of the first eleven Chapters of Genesis and refuting evolution – demonstrating that the Bible can be trusted, beginning with the very first word. AIG also explains how a literal six-day creation is critical to the Gospel of Jesus Christ itself. Its website, www.answersingenesis.org, was awarded the National Religious Broadcasters’ “Website of the Year” award in 2005. Answers in Genesis USA, headquartered in northern Kentucky near the Cincinnati International Airport, expects to open a Creation Museum with world-class exhibits in this location in 2007. Ken Ham, CEO of Answers in Genesis USA, who can be heard on over 1000 radio stations worldwide every weekday, and the Answers in Genesis ministry equip Christians with information that serves both to increase and defend their faith. AIG creates and distributes an average of 40 new faith-building books and DVDs annually.

On May 18-19, 2007 Answers in Genesis will hold a major Conference for the Washington, DC, area at The Community Church, 19790 Ashburn Road, Ashburn, VA 20147, in Loudoun County adjacent to Route 7, approximately 18 miles from the Washington, DC, Beltway (I-495). The first day of the Conference will include two free Student Meetings, grades K-6 in the morning and 7-12 in the afternoon. The main part of the Conference will begin Friday evening and will continue all day Saturday. Main speakers will be Ken Ham and Mike Riddle. For children ages 7-10, three identical Children’s Adventure Workshops will be held, taught by Buddy and Kay Davis. Buddy, accompanied by his guitar, will also be singing selections from his repertoire of captivating creation songs, teaching Biblical truths about creation and the flood. The Conference speakers will teach Biblical truths about Genesis 1-11 in a way that holds the attention of the audience – adults, teens, and children – with plenty of humor to go along with the teaching. Details of the Conference may be found on an Answers in Genesis future events webpage, www.answersingenesis.org/dc.

Those interested in attending will want to mark their calendars now and ask their churches to place the event on their 2007 church calendars. Volunteers are also needed to help put on the conference. To volunteer, please e-mail Chris Loop at looptroop4@cox.net or call her at 703-352-0681.

On March 27, 2007, there will be a Christian Leaders Meeting (CLM) luncheon for pastors and Christian school administrators. The purpose of the CLM is to acquaint pastors and other Christian leaders with the Answers in Genesis ministry and the benefits to their congregations and Christian schools of attending the Conference, and to provide promotional materials. Carl Kirby, Answers in Genesis Vice President, will be speaking at the CLM.
