The Everloving Truth by Voddie Baucham

Perhaps the most serious challenge facing Jesus’ church today is the ignorance and antagonism assailing us in a post-modern culture. Christians are fair game for liberal professors, media talking heads, authors, and run-of-the-mill church members who have swallowed the specious arguments of religious relativism, tolerance, and philosophical pluralism. (Those who argue that there are no absolutes apparently do not realize that they just made an absolute statement.)

Baucham first addresses what he calls “pre-Christian attitudes in a post-Christian culture,” ending that section with a chapter titled “Don’t Use that Name!” ... of course the name not to use in own day is Jesus. Second, Baucham has a section “Drawing a Line in the Sand” in which he asserts “We Must Preach”, offers “Evidence that Cannot Be Denied”, and closes with “The Joy of Sharing in His Suffering”. His final section, “What Shall We Say”, includes chapters on “Why Believe the Bible”, “The Jesus of the Bible”, and Not the What but the How”.

This is a very informative book about the need for witnessing and how to go about it in today’s world. It is clearly written with many interesting personal experiences.
