CBF – an insight
by T. C. Pinckney Vol. XIX, No. 7, September 2007
In a recent but undated issue of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia newsletter, the lead article discusses how CBF implements its mission statement. Most of the article focusses on two CBFV members who recently attended their first national CBF coordinating Council meeting and their reactions. Let me quote a paragraph about Sarah Fain, one of these attendees, and her comments.
“Sarah Fain is a committed layperson at Starling Avenue Baptist Church in Martinsville. She credits her involvement in CBF to her church’s efforts to be educated about what it means to be a Baptist. She notes, ‘CBF promotes Baptist ideals in all areas – how we do missions, how we meet people’s physical as well as spiritual needs, how we are called to do the work of God (yes, including women!), and how we are all allowed the privilege of interpreting the Bible as we see fit.” [Emphasis added.]
Somehow I don’t think any editorial comment is necessary!.
