SBCV MISSIONS REPORT

                                                                                                                                                                   Vol. VIII, No. 6, June/July 1995

The SBCV Missions Committee has recently taken the following actions:

The Scholarship Committee continues to consider and award scholarships for the fall semester. No more applications may be submitted for the fall since the cutoff was 15 June. However, applications for the spring semester will be received. Students who are actively preparing for ministry in a conservative seminary, Bible college, or Bible institution may apply for financial aid. Application forms are available by writing SBCV Missions Committee, P.O. Box 9232, Galax, VA 24333. Between 1 October and 15 May $3,700 was awarded for scholarships.

Grant Awarded, Workers Needed: A $12,000 SBCV construction grant has been awarded to Abundant Life Baptist Church, Dumfries, and construction workers are needed this summer. If you can serve in this way, call the pastor, Rev. Paul Brown, at 703-590-2040.

Pastoral Assistance of $100 per month for six months has been assigned to Agape Baptist Church in Front Royal.

Youth Camp: The two weeks of youth camp at Camp Frame, Hedgesville, WV, are maxed out. The SBCV Missions Committee has donated $4,000 toward the rent for the summer camp.

Pennsylvania Mission Trip & Grant: A new (and the only) Baptist church in Lancaster, PA, needs help this fall. They need volunteers to help conduct a revival, door-to-door evangelism, working with children & youth, and music (NOT construction). The SBCV has committed $2,000 to cover the necessary motel rooms since the small church is unable to house visitors. The special emphasis will be 15-21 October. If you would like to help, call Rev. David Johnson at 703-7433003.
