The previous Banner carried an extensive article covering the three conservative nominees for state offices: president, Rev. Howard Baldwin; first vice president, Rev. Robert C. Jackson; and second vice president, Rev. Robert E. Sherrill. This article will merely present a brief summary to inform anyone who missed the last issue.

Howard Baldwin is a native Virginian, a graduate of the University of Richmond and Southern Seminary. He has pastored several churches, and for the last 21 years has headed Multi-Media Evangelism, Inc. of Richmond, having preached over 400 revivals and led ten partnership crusades in England. Howard served on the SBC Foreign Mission Board for eight years.

Bob Jackson is Director of Missions in New River Association. He is a native of Bluefield and a graduate of North Carolina State University and Lexington Theological Seminary. He has been principal of a Christian school, worked for the Navigators, pastored for seven years, and has been D.O.M. in New River since 1983. He and his family are members of First Church, Galax.

Bob Sherrill was born in Bryson City, NC, and saved under the preaching of his grandfather. After retiring from the Air Force in 1966 he was called to preach and attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and then Southeastern Seminary 1974-76. Bob pastors Peck's Baptist Church south of Bedford.

Be SURE to be there Wednesday afternoon to vote for these three fine men. Please DO NOT GO HOME EARLY. Have someone else handle prayer meeting if necessary. Stay the whole course, right up until adjournment. What would you think of a runner who just walked away from the track before the race was finished? Don't be like that runner. Win, lose, or draw ... be faithful till the end.
