FAITH

The SBCV. the Sunday School Board and the North American Mission Board are working together to evangelize through the Sunday School in what is being called "FAITH". FAITH is a revitalization of the Sunday School and it's evangelization efforts. FAITH is a proven method of reaching people for Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, FL, under the direction of Pastor Bobby Welch has developed FAITH over the past decade. This past year there was an originator clinic held at FBC of Daytona in which 28 churches participated. These 28 churches are now conducting the FAITH training clinics in their churches. Through these clinics the final layout and training materials are being developed and will be available in August.

Becoming a FAITH participating church requires commitment. First, the pastor has to sign a commitment covenant stating he will lead and participate in FAITH. In fact the pastor must go to the training clinics being held, beginning this fall, in one of the 28 originator churches. The pastor and attendees will receive the training materials only when they attend one of the training clinics. Some of the training clinics are listed below. Pastor Bobby Welch, Dr, Joe Brown, and others from the Sunday School Board conducted a FAITH awareness meeting on April 13^th at Spotswood Baptist Church. Bobby shared about the phenomenal results occurring not only in his church, but in almost all of the originator churches Dr, Joe Brown's church, Hickory Grove, in Charlotte currently has over 350 involved training. There were almost 200 people and 70 churches represented at the awareness meeting, and many signed up immediately to participate.

Many have had said that FAITH is the best thing the Sunday School Board has ever done. The Sunday School Board is investing a great deal of resources into FAITH, not just to create another program, but because like many they believe the best way to reach people for Jesus Christ is through the Sunday School, and this has worked and is working.

Don't get left behind! Don't think you can decide later on to be a part of FAITH this fall. The training clinics are already beginning to fill up and are expected to be filled shortly. That does not mean you cannot get in, it will just be at a later time, like next year. If you need more information, call Mark Baldwin in the SBCV office.
