Researcher: Christian Gains
Vol. VI, No. 5, June 1993
Gains in Evangelization: In 1430 only 1 percent of the world's population was made up of Bible-believing Christians. In 1993 one in ten are believers. The number of believers is growing at a rate more than three times faster than the world's population, according to the Lausanne Statistics Task Force, headed by missions researcher David Barrett. There currently are some 540 million Bible-believing Christians in the world, in about seven million congregations. (EP, Word & Way)
