Churches Joining the SBCV

The following churches have been approved as provisional members in the SBCV subject to final acceptance by messengers in the November 2005 Annual Meeting:

Requesting Unique Affiliation

Charity Baptist Church, Rev. C. Wayne Henry, Prince George, VA

Fishersville Baptist Church, Rev. John J. Hamrick, Fishersville, VA

Midway Baptist Church, Rev. Myron Dalton, Galax, VA

Prillman Baptist Church, Rev. Kendell Smith, Ferrum, VA

Requesting Dual Affiliation

Palestine Baptist Church, Rev. Jackie Carver, Huddleston, VA

The affiliation process begins with the church submitting a request to the SBCV Executive Board. A committee of the Board examines the request and, if all is in order, refers it to the full Board. The Executive Board can vote provisional affiliation status. However, full membership can be granted only by vote of the messengers at the annual SBCV meeting in November.

There is a deadline, sixty days before the annual meeting convenes to allow the examination procedure to have adequate time. This year applications must be received by the Executive Board not later than 14 September. Please do not delay your church’s full membership an entire year by being a few days late submitting your application.
