Missions Vignette: CHINA

A foreign English teacher was asked by a student to visit the home of a young friend who was dying of cancer. The teacher arrived and found seven people waiting there for him to pray. The teacher thought it wise to first explain to them that prayer is not magical, but that God would hear their prayer and then do what He thought best in the situation. This led to questions about God, which allowed the teacher to share that God is sovereign and that His love extends to all people. He told them that more than anything, God desired a personal relationship with them. Upon hearing that, the entire group knelt on the floor and asked Jesus to come into their hearts. Now as they meet for worship and pray to the True God, they too can lift up their young friend with cancer.
