CBF Mid-Year Report
by T. C. Pinckney Vol. XV, No. 4, April 2002
Readers may recall that the February 2002 Baptist Banner contained an article titled “Some Numbers to Chew On” and that article included, inter alia, the annual number of churches contributing to CBF from 1992 through 2001. Each year the number had increased reaching a high of 1,806 in 1999, but then it decreased to 1,797 in 2000 and to 1,776 in 2001.
The March 2002 issue of fellowship!, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship newsletter, presents a financial report for the first six months (July-December) of their current fiscal year. This report indicates that, whereas at this time last year checks had been received from 1,472 churches, in the same period this year only 1,414 churches had sent contributions, a decrease of 58 churches or 3.9%. On the other hand, total revenues were up 2.6% from $6,667,290 to $6,842,398.
