Is The Banner in Your Church’s Budget?
by T. C. Pinckney Vol. XVII, No. 7, August 2004
About this time of year churches begin to work on next year’s budget. As the process starts in your church, please suggest that The Baptist Banner be included.
I trust all of you know by now that we do everything possible to keep dollar costs at the absolute minimum. Our costs are almost entirely for printing and postage, but with 20,745 readers at current count, per issue costs run between $8,500 and $9,400. Please note that your contributions are NOT used for any salaries, mileage reimbursement, or office expenses.
One of the reasons we can keep costs low is that Spotswood Baptist in Fredericksburg provides free financial secretary service. I want to thank Pastor Melvin, Faye Hicks, and Susan Howe at Spotswood for this very important help.
Let me suggest that each SBCV church place The Banner in the budget. We don’t need huge amounts, but we do need support from every church. If your church is small (say below 70 resident members), perhaps just $5 a month. Somewhat larger churches (70 to 150 resident members) could start with $10 monthly. And larger churches can increase the amount. You might find it easier to send it all in one annual check, or quarterly, or monthly. Whatever is easiest for you is fine.
But, folks, we really do need your support. Please put us in your budget.
