By a margin of 76% to 19% Americans would rather live in a place "that strongly upholds traditional family values" than a place "that is very tolerant of non-traditional lifestyles," according to a new poll conducted by the Family Research Council. 5% said they had no opinion. Even atheists and people who never attend church favor traditional values by 58% to 31%. Married people are favorable 85%, never-marrieds 65%, and parents 82% to 64% for non-parents. Asked their opinion of various institutions, churches and "youth organizations like the Boy Scouts" ranked highest; the entertainment industry and the federal government most negatively.
