EXIT'97

Vol. XI, No. 2, February 1998

The SBCV's first youth rally was a tremendous success! God was gracious in all that He did for us New Year's eve at Liberty University's Vine Center. Our original goal was 3,000 students. Instead of 3,000, we had 6,000! Over 1,200 decisions were made, including at least 150 professions of faith, Kids packed the stage area as Reality Check and Third Day played Christian alternative music. Students were then challenged by messages from Exit'97 organizer and Liberty student, Austin Rammell and Pastor of Woodstock Baptist Church, Rev. Johnny Hunt. Rammell challenged students to stand for Christ on their campus. Johnny Hunt preached on being good seed in good soil and how to know for sure that you have a relationship with Christ. Students flooded the aisles when the invitation was given.

From 1:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. students moved on to activities which included "adventure games" in Liberty's multipurpose center and their choice of some wholesome films. The great spirit and enthusiasm of the youth were a testimony to Jesus Christ and the churches that these students represented. It was a great way to start the New Year for the SBCV! We have hopes and plans to see next year's EXIT be even bigger and better.
