Highlands Fellowship @ Bristol
Vol. XIX, No. 2, February 2006
Highlands Fellowship has been preparing for over two years for their new campus serving the Bristol area. Pastor Jimmie Davidson, founding and Senior Pastor at Highlands Fellowship said, “we are now one church with two locations – Abingdon and Bristol!”
It has been our dream to help the ten’s of thousands of people who make up the two cities of Bristol and the surrounding areas discover God’s purpose and plan for their lives. Our desire is to help people live life to the fullest. God has a plan for everyone’s life and living out the purposes of Jesus Christ accomplishes that.
The celebration and grand opening of Highlands Fellowship @ Bristol took place on Sunday, January 15 am. The Bristol campus will offer several choices of services, Highlands Praise, and Highlands Café as well as worship for both children and youth. Highlands Fellowship is a friendly, casual, purpose driven church.
Highlands Fellowship held their first public worship service in Abingdon, Virginia on Easter Sunday, 1995 with 156 people in attendance. The church has now grown to well over 2000 in Sunday attendance in a town of only 7700 people.
Highlands Fellowship was awarded the prestigious Church Health Award by Saddleback Church in 2002. In April of this past year, Pastor Davidson was invited by Rick Warren to speak at the Saddleback Church 25th Anniversary Celebration in Anaheim Stadium. Pastor Davidson represented the pastors of over 400,000 purpose driven churches at this event.
