President Doesn't Get It

The White House released a copy of President Clinton's comments after the tragic death of his friend of forty years and legal counsel, Vince Foster, Jr., "...My deepest hope is that whatever drew Vince away from us this evening, his soul will receive the grace and salvation that his good life and good works earned." [Emphasis added.] One of the most basic truths of Christianity is that salvation is received through faith and not earned by works. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. [Tim LaHaye's Capitol Report, August 93]
