One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven
reviewed by T. C. Pinckney Vol. XXIII, No. 1, January 2010
Mark Cahill’s book will light a fire in your heart for talking to others about Jesus. Not only that, he shows us how flimsy our excuses are for not witnessing, gives great suggestions for how to go about it without offending others, provides examples and illustrations galore. His writing is to the point, pungent. Here’s an example:
“Ask someone, ‘A hundred and fifty years from now, will it matter if you made a million dollars, drove a convertible Mercedes, graduated from college, played in the Final Four? No. The only thing that will be important then is whether you know the God who created you, because you will be in one of two destinations forever ... and ever and ever.’ It is very important to get people to realize that it is the eternal, not temporary, things that matter.”
One thing you can do to begin putting the proper emphasis on the eternal is to buy a copy of One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven, read it, and start putting its advice into practice.
