Sex in America

A study called "Sex in America," recently released by the University of Chicago, confirms what the Family Research Council's 1993 Family Issues Survey found, which is that monogamous married couples are the most sexually satisfied Americans and that highly religious women have more satisfying sex lives than other women.

Comment: Though this flies in the face of the contemporary anti-God American "culture," believers will immediately recognize the logic of the study's conclusion. God knows and wants what is best for His children in the physical no less than in the spiritual realm. After all, it was God who invented sex. The example and rule He set of one man plus one woman for life is not meant to deny us pleasure and satisfaction, but rather to ensure our maximum satisfaction across the entire range of human needs and abilities, including the sexual; the need for companionship and tenderness; the dependable presence of our spouses for help, cooperation, and fellowship; the reassuring knowledge of having a stable home; the secure parental team nurturing children so essential to both the children and the entire society, the intimacy and mutual knowledge which can only be developed over a lifetime of devotion, and - perhaps most important of all - the confident awareness of living in accordance with God's stated plan. How much to be pitied are those who choose to rebel against God's commands about their intimate lives! What a harvest of sorrow, sickness, loneliness, self-doubt, guilt, and isolation they confer upon themselves, their serial "significant others," and their children.
