The Little Book of Big Reasons to Homeschool, a review
by T. C. Pinckney Vol. XXII, No. 1, January 2009
In this very short (70 pages) and eminently readable book David and Kim d’Escoto, homeschool parents themselves of their five children, present a clear, concise, compelling rationale why homeschooling is best for the children, best for the family, best academically, best morally.
The Little Book is divided in four sections: History of Homeschooling, Benefits to the Mind, Benefits to the Body, and Benefits to the Soul. In each section the arguments presented, while simple and clear, are compelling.
If you are thinking of possibly homeschooling, The Little Book is an excellent place to begin. If you know a couple toying with the idea, give them a copy. It could prove to be the first step on a long and wonderful journey.
The Little Book of Big Reasons to Homeschool is published by B&H Publishing, Nashville and has ISBN 978-0-8954-4484-1.
